Carlos Alcaine is a Senior Vice President at D.A. Davidson, bringing nearly 40 years of experience in wealth management. He specializes in serving high-net-worth individuals, fiduciary clients, and victims of personal injury lawsuits.

Carlos has undergone training in Paragon Portfolio Management which allows him to design personalized, risk-appropriate, and discretionary portfolios tailored to his clients' unique goals. Having this strategy in his tool belt has expanded the wealth management capabilities of his practice and greatly benefited clients old and new. As part of the Alcaine Halterbeck Investment Group, he helps manage hundreds of millions in client assets and is focused on ensuring his clients achieve their goals, are well taken care of, and feel supported through the process. 

Carlos is a pioneer in plaintiff-oriented structured settlements and a founding member of the Society of Settlement Planners.

Before entering the securities industry, Carlos graduated from San Jose State University and led the consumer and business marketing department for a Fortune 500 company.

Outside of work, Carlos enjoys golf, hiking, skiing, and playing pickleball. He lives in Granite Bay, California, with his wife, Julie. They have two grown sons, Alex and Austin.

Steve Halterbeck focuses on the details of your financial life, crafting strategies that instill confidence in your future. A Financial Advisor with D.A. Davidson since 2019, Steve has been serving clients in the industry since 2007. He specializes in settlement planning and structured settlements, guiding plaintiffs with tailored solutions that align with their needs and risk tolerance.

Steve was part of the inaugural graduating class to earn the Registered Settlement Planner (RSP) designation from Texas Tech University and the Registry of Settlement Planners-the first credential awarded to professionals dedicated to needs-based settlement planning.

Based in Roseville, California, Steve lives with his wife, Claire—a former elementary school teacher turned stay-at-home mom-and their daughter and twin sons. In his free time, he enjoys boating, skiing, traveling with family, and indulging his passion for cars.

Austin Alcaine joined our team in 2022, leveraging his unique background in mechanical engineering to enhance our client-focused solutions. His experience at Trane Technologies, where he designed and sold commercial HVAC systems, sharpened his skills in creating custom solutions that meet diverse client needs.

As a financial advisor, Austin is dedicated to constructing personalized financial strategies that reflect each client's individual goals and situations. His technical expertise and problem-solving abilities are key assets in navigating the complexities of financial planning.

Austin lives in Midtown Sacramento and enjoys snowboarding, hiking, and watching the Sacramento Kings Light the Beam.

Blake has been with the Alcaine Halterbeck Investment group since 2021 and started his career as a client associate. He quickly gained recognition for his dedication to serving clients, always delivering effective communication, attention to detail, and transparency. As a financial advisor, Blake will lean on these skills and empower clients to make informed decisions to achieve lasting financial success. He works closely with every client to create a comprehensive and specialized financial plan according to their needs and long term goals. He also assists plaintiffs with structured settlements, providing guidance on how to maximize their financial security and ensure long-term stability.

Blake attended California State University of Long Beach and graduated with a degree in Business Finance. He resides in Roseville with his wife, Carson, and their son Hayes. He enjoys football, pickleball, Formula One, fitness, and cooking.

Cheryl is a seasoned professional known for her focus on accountability, communications and excellence in client service. She is responsible for supporting business operations and, among other work, she enters trades, supervises wire transfers and disbursements, and manages account documentation. As the first contact for many clients, Cheryl is often tasked with our most important service: responding to client inquiries and nurturing strong client relationships. She handles these tasks with professionalism and a personalized approach.

After several years of prior financial services work, Cheryl has worked with Carlos since 2002. She studied ornamental horticulture at California Polytechnic Institute at San Luis Obispo before deciding to use her organizational skills in working for clients in the financial industry. She and her husband, Kelly, live in the north Sacramento area.

Freshta is the newest member of Alcaine Halterbeck Investment Group. With a background in business banking, she brings 5 years of financial services experience to the team and is excited to learn the ins and outs of investing. Freshta is passionate about helping clients meet their financial needs, she has her Securities Industry Essentials license and is currently studying for her series 7 license so she can offer a higher level of service.

Born in Afghanistan, growing up in London, and now living in El Dorado Hills, California, Freshta has had a plethora of life experiences that have influenced her passion for finance. She loves California and plans to stay long term. In her spare time Freshta enjoys baking, fitness, cars, and golfing. She looks forward to being part of the team and connecting with clients in the community.
